About the lab

The Melbourne Advanced Genome Editing Centre (MAGEC) laboratory focuses on using advanced CRISPR gene editing techniques to generate pre-clinical models of human disease.

Impact

To date, The MAGEC laboratory has generated more than 400 unique gene-edited mouse models for basic biological research and translational research. We have developed gene-editing techniques to generate highly complex mouse models, including gene reporters, humanised mice and conditional alleles. This work has led to more than 50 high impact publications in journals such as Nature, Nature Medicine and Immunity.
