Dr Belinda Phipson is a laboratory head in the Bioinformatics Division at WEHI, and an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow. During her PhD she developed novel statistical methods for analysing gene expression data, contributing to the popular limma and edgeR Bioconductor packages. During her postdoc she developed bioinformatics methods for analysing DNA methylation arrays and is an author of the popular missMethyl Bioconductor package. She is an expert in the analysis of single cell RNA-seq data and has collaborated widely with biologists to facilitate discoveries in healthy development and disease.

The focus of her lab is on developing bioinformatics methods for data from cutting edge single cell assays; including transcriptomics, proteomics and spatial technologies.
