Advancing precision medicine for Parkinson’s

We are a medical research collaboration. We cannot give healthcare advice. If you need personal medical advice, please speak with your GP or specialist.

If you are someone who is living with Parkinson’s, caring for someone, or supporting a friend or family member, this page has trusted starting points for support and more information.

Patient-centric approach

By using a patient-centric focus and enabling cooperative and collaborative research through shared tools, resources and data alongside people with lived experience of Parkinson’s, we hope to bridge the gap between the clinic and the lab.

Bringing people with Parkinson’s, clinicians, researchers together to improve our understanding of the mechanisms behind Parkinson’s, we aim to translate basic science into next-generation disease modifying therapies, and develop the next generation of Parkinson’s researchers.

We are guided by lived experience

Our researchers are guided and regularly meet with our Consumer Advisory Group: people with experience of living with Parkinson’s, either themselves or as a carer or relative of someone with the condition.

This model of engagement provides our team the opportunity to hear first-hand the challenges of living with Parkinson’s and is an important development opportunity for early career researchers in planning their long-term research goals.

We also hold an annual consumer-led symposium so researchers and clinicians can engage with, and learn from, the Parkinson’s community.
