An enduring friendship

Sections on this page

What do you do when your best friend is diagnosed with breast cancer?

If you’re Katherine Aldcroft, the answer is simple:

  • swim two kilometres in open water
  • ride 90 kilometres on a bicycle
  • run 21 kilometres.

And 14 days later, you do it all again.

Katherine completed two half-ironman endurance events in the space of one fortnight. She raised over $5000 to support our breast cancer research programs.

For Katherine, it was important to know that the money she raised would be making a difference.

“I decided to raise money for WEHI because I know every donation directly supports the researchers. They are doing amazing work, they are so passionate about their research, and I know how dedicated they are to making a difference for patients.”
– Katherine Aldcroft
