Meet our panelists

Professor Andrew Roberts AM, Blood Cancers

Professor Andrew RobertsAndrew is a clinical haematologist who cares for patients at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He is also a Deputy Director of WEHI, leading translational research focused on developing new treatments for blood cancers, especially those that are currently incurable.

Professor Peter Gibbs, Colon Cancers

Photo of Prof Peter GibbsPeter is a medical oncologist leading a team of oncologists who manage national and international cancer registries and undertake registry-based and international randomised trials. Peter and his team are studying how organoids – models grown in the lab from a patient’s own tumour – can be used to improve treatment outcomes for colorectal cancer.

Professor Misty Jenkins AO, Brain Cancers

Misty is a renowned immunologist whose team currently focuses on designing and testing a type of adaptive T cell immunotherapy called CAR T cells as a new treatment for adult and paediatric brain tumours. Their ultimate goal is to improve the prognosis for patients with low-survival brain cancers.

Professor Clare Scott AM, Rare Gynaecological Cancers

Professor Clare Scott photographed in a clinical settingClare is a clinician scientist, leading the Ovarian and Rare Gynaecological Cancers Laboratory at WEHI and working as a medical oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Royal Women’s and Royal Melbourne Hospitals. Her laboratory focuses on developing targeted treatment strategies for ovarian cancer and other rare cancers.
