WEHI’s researchers are seeking members of the public who would like to contribute to better health outcomes in the medical research sector.

Frank (centre, with his wife Ronnie, right) is a consumer
working with researcher Dr Lorraine O’Reilly (left).

We are interested in hearing from consumers who have a personal disease experience as a patient or carer.

You do not need to have a science or medical background. Our researchers are interested in non-scientific perspectives to assist in communicating scientific information and relating laboratory research to community experiences.

We are particularly interested in talking to members of the public who are current or past patients, or family members, carers or friends of patients with a desire to help improve research outcomes, particularly in the areas of cancer, arthritis, heart disease, skin inflammations, IBS and people with an inquisitive mind for medical research.

Read more about our Consumer Buddy program or contact our consumer manager, Katya Gray at consumers@wehi.edu.au or 0408 525 122.

Many of our researchers work with people who have been been impacted by a disease, for example patients and carers.

Connecting with members of the community helps researchers make discoveries that improve human health.
