Tumour tissue-engineered models to target cancer metabolism

In-person only presentation

Davis Auditorium

Including Q&A session

Rodrigo completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at Monash University in 2020. He has a multidisciplinary background bridging the fields of biomaterials and cell biology and has developed engineered biomaterials for the growth of gastrointestinal organoids. Currently, Rodrigo is a research fellow at the 3D Cancer Models Group and leads a research program focused on engineering the tumour microenvironment to target cancer metabolism.

In this presentation, he will introduce how tissue engineering approaches can be applied to recreate pancreatic cancer ‘on a dish’, shedding light on how the tumour microenvironment shapes cancer metabolism.
