Michele is a Professor of Physiotherapy at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania and a senior research fellow at Monash University. Her research focuses on improving access to allied health for people with progressive neurological conditions. She has been awarded over $34 million in research funding and has published over 185 research papers or book chapters. She is the principal investigator for the MRFF funded projects “The right to rehabilitation for people living with dementia – tackling stigma and implementing evidence-based care” and “Implementing ParkinsonNet to improve equitable access to high quality care for people with Parkinson’s disease in rural and remote Australia”. She is also co-lead of the online Parkinson’s MOOC which is ranked 4th internationally in Health and Medical MOOCs.
