In this presentation, I will discuss my experience in translational research in an academic setting, focusing on how to select targets for drug discovery, the challenges associated with progressing programs through the early stages of the drug discovery pipeline, and, what makes this such a rewarding activity.

 

Professor Guillaume Lessene is Associate Director of Therapeutics discovery and head of the New Medicines and Diagnostics Division at WEHI. His main research focus is on small molecules that target cell death pathways, with applications in chemical biology and drug discovery.
