Gwenny Verstappen is appointed as Assistant Professor (tenured) at the University Medical Center Groningen, the Netherlands, where she is affiliated with the national Sjögren’s disease (SjD) expertise center. She has a specific interest in translational immunological studies to discover how the immune system can be modulated therapeutically to improve clinical outcomes for patients with connective tissue diseases and specifically SjD. She is a recipient of personal grants from the Dutch Research Council and FOREUM. She was a visiting postdoctoral fellow at WEHI in 2018-2019 in the labs of Vanessa Bryant and Phil Hodgkin.
