Get with the program: the molecular regulation of T cell death

Dr Timothy Patton is a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity. He completed his PhD in immunology at Monash University, where he developed a strong interest in cellular immunobiology and the molecular mechanisms that regulate inflammation and immune cell fate.

His research focuses on how programmed cell death pathways shape T-cell activation, survival and function, with particular interests in unconventional T-cell populations, including MAIT cells. His work has explored the roles of apoptotic and inflammatory cell-death machinery in determining T-cell responses, as well as the broader consequences of these pathways for immunity and disease.
