Trends Open is a Cell Press journal that publishes authoritative reviews across life, physical, medical, sustainability, biodiversity, and applied sciences of interest to broad and specialist audiences alike. This multidisciplinary, open access journal builds on the rich heritage of our Trends portfolio to serve our global community of researchers. In a 40-minute presentation led by editor Ilaria Carnevale, attendees will be introduced to the Cell Press family of journals, with a particular focus on Trends Open. The discussion will cover the pre-submission process, emphasizing critical points to consider, including the importance of crafting an effective cover letter and writing a compelling abstract. Additionally, the presentation will outline the life cycle of a Review article at Trends Open, from the initial idea through planning, writing, and revising based on feedback. Key take-home messages will provide valuable best practices for authors seeking to write impactful reviews that contribute meaningfully to the scientific community. This session aims to provide attendees with valuable insights and resources to enhance their understanding of the publication process.
