I am a seasoned research management professional with over a decade of experience in enabling successful health and medical research outcomes in the higher education and MRI sectors. As a strategic leader, I partner with researchers, senior executives, and key stakeholders to take innovative and transformative approaches that drive research success for individuals and at an organisational level.
My past achievements include multiple Vice Chancellor awards (La Trobe Uni 2017 and 2019), an award for Excellence in Research Management Practice from the Australasian Research Management Society (2017), and most recently, the WEHI Director’s award (2021). These accolades reflect my integrity, energy, and unwavering commitment to health and medical research.
At WEHI, I was recruited to drive the transformation of WEHI’s Research Grants and Development Office. Under my leadership, my team has significantly contributed to grants success and research culture at WEHI, resulting in increased research performance and profile. Our office partners with researchers, senior leaders, and Professional Services Teams to secure competitive national and international research funding, increase the level and diversity of research funding, and deliver researcher development strategies that facilitate excellent research outcomes. We provide professional, accurate, and strategic advice, as well as flexible and efficient services, with an emphasis on continuous business improvement.
Beyond my professional duties, I contribute broadly to other aspects of WEHI’s community through service on multiple internal and external committees. My passion for health and medical research stems from my desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives, and I am driven to continue to support pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this field.
