Mendel: The Legacy

This state-of-the-art visual and orchestral spectacular in Brno, Czech Republic, celebrates 150 years since Gregor Johann Mendel first discovered the principles of genetics.

On July 20, 2015, Mendel: the Legacy, a video-mapping multimedia extravaganza, was projected on the Augustinian Abbey where Mendel conducted his research.

Featuring specially created visuals by Emmy and BAFTA winning animator Drew Berry accompanied by a live full-orchestral score by composer Duncan Hendy, the event was broadcasted live from Brno, the Czech Republic, the place where the father of genetics first formulated and presented his ideas.

Five continents united in the global celebration of the vision of one man, a man whose discoveries helped shape the world we live in today.
