Publishing in Nature Research journals

Special seminar hosted by Professor Jane Visvader

There are many stages in the life of an article from its initial commission or submission to its final publication. In this talk, Dr Anna Dart will discuss publishing in the Nature Research journals. She will begin by providing an overview of Nature Research and then explain what her role comprises as an editor at a Nature Reviews journal. In the second part of her talk, she will discuss what makes a good primary Nature Research paper and what Nature editors are looking for.

Anna is a Senior Editor at Nature Reviews Cancer. She received her PhD in Cell Biology from Imperial College London where she researched signalling pathways involved in phagocytosis in the laboratory of Emmanuelle Caron. She continued her research work as a postdoctoral fellow in Claire Wells’ laboratory at King’s College London investigating how PAK4 kinase and the Rho GTPase RhoU contribute to breast cancer cell migration. She then undertook a second postdoctoral position investigating the involvement of neuronal signalling pathways in prostate cancer invasion and metastasis. Anna moved into science publishing to expand her knowledge of all aspects of cancer. She has worked as an editor at Nature Reviews Cancer since May 2016.
