An opportunity is available for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance department at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.

About the position

To assist the Financial Operations Manager by ensuring operational accounting processes are carried out in an accurate, timely and efficient manner and comply with the Institutes Financial policies and processes.  The operational duties will include, but not be limited to,

  • processing of internal recharges, common purchases, and general ledger journals,
  • completion of periodic Balance Sheet and System reconciliations,
  • administration of Insurance, Motor Vehicle, and Smart Salary related claims and queries
  • maintenance of the fixed asset register and associated capital reporting.

  • Strong PC skills (including Excel, Email and Word).
  • Accounting knowledge – bookkeeping level.
  • Ability to work effectively within prescribed time constraints.

Terms of appointment

This position is available for 1 year in a full time capacity. Salary is HEW 5 ($70,971 - $81,520. Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
