Pricing and access to proteomics resources

WEHI Proteomics Lab data analysis

The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute Proteomics Laboratory operates on a cost-recovery basis and offers two levels of access to the available proteomics resources:

“Fee-for-service” – our standard sample analysis option

We provide protein identification, characterisation of post-translational modifications or expert MS data analyses for scientist at WEHI or other institutions on a ‘user pays’ basis.  We currently charge:

  • $250 per sample for high-confidence protein identification of liquid- or gel-based samples (including initial consultation, sample digestion reagents and workstation access, QC Scaffold report of highly confident peptide IDs and PTMs, access to your MS raw data)
  • $50 per hour for expert analyses requiring extended processing of LC-MS/MS raw data (including spectral deconvolution, XIC graphs, quantitative analyses, de-novo sequencing, manual validation of MS/MS evidence spectra, or localisation of PTM sites).

“Embedded collaborator” – our high-level, long-term collaborative research option

Laboratories that need access to a combination of advanced proteomics approaches to answer complex biological questions can utilise the ‘embedded collaborator’ funding model at a fixed annual rate. Major research focuses within the laboratory are the analysis of post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and ubiquitination, and the development of methods for quantitative comparative analysis of protein and post-translational modification levels.
