Costs
WEHI Users and External Academic Users
Cytometry services are provided to colleagues in neighbouring academic institutions as our schedules allow. You are asked to contribute to the running expenses but it is emphasised that this is not a commercial service. Access to any excess capacity is offered in a spirit of collegiality and in order to extract the greatest benefit from this expensive instrumentation. It is WEHI's policy to charge identical rates to internal and to external academic users of all services.
Contribution rates as of 1st July 2010 are as follows:
$30 per hour for Do-it-yourself single-laser cytometer use (e.g. FACScan). Users may ask for advice and assistance from Cytometry lab staff.
$45 per hour for Do-it-yourself multi-laser cytometer use (e.g. FACSCalibur or LSR). Users may ask for advice and assistance from Cytometry lab staff.
$95 per hour for sorting run by a Cytometry lab operator.
Bookings can be made by WEHI staff via the on-line booking system. WEHI users must provide a valid laboratory cost code.
External users may book six or less days in advance by phone or in person at the FACS lab. All external users should first present a completed access agreement, signed by their department head.
All reservations may be canceled with more than 24 hours notice without penalty.
External Commercial Users
Contribution rates for commercial users are subject to a 30% surcharge. Resultant rates as of 1st July 2010 are as follows:
$39 per hour for Do-it-yourself single-laser cytometer use (e.g. FACScan). Users may ask for advice and assistance from Cytometry lab staff.
$58.50 per hour for Do-it-yourself multi-laser cytometer use (e.g. FACSCalibur or LSR). Users may ask for advice and assistance from Cytometry lab staff.
$123.50 per hour for sorting run by a Cytometry lab operator.
