Costs

WEHI Users

Cytometry operations are subsidized for WEHI users who also contribute to the research levies. The resultant charges may vary from time to time. See Cytometry lab staff for details. Users must provide a valid laboratory cost code.

Reserved time may be cancelled without penalty if 24 hours or more notice is given.

External users

Cytometry services are provided to colleagues in neighbouring institutions as our schedules allow. You are asked to contribute to the running expenses but it is emphasised that this is not a commercial service. Access to any excess capacity is offered in a spirit of collegiality and in order to extract the greatest benefit from this expensive instrumentation. Current contribution rates are as follows:

$35 per hour for Do-it-yourself FACScan use (users may ask for advice and assistance from Cytometry lab staff).

$50 per hour for Do-it-yourself LSR or FACSCalibur cytometer use (users may ask for advice and assistance from Cytometry lab staff).

$50 per hour for Do-it-yourself confocal microscope use (users may ask for advice and assistance from Cytometry lab staff). External users must first arrange an introductory session with Cytometry lab staff for training and/or for evaluation of your expertise.

$100 per hour for sorting run by a Cytometry lab operator.

$100 per hour for Confocal Microscopy run by a Cytometry lab operator.

Bookings can be made six or less days in advance and may be canceled with more than 24 hours notice without penalty.
