WEASEL is a general purpose flow cytometry data analysis
and display program developed at WEHI.
As can be seen from the sample screen below, many different display
formats are possible as are the extraction of a number of numerical
or statistical measures. Multiple flow cytometry standard (FCS) data files can be compared side-by-side
on screen and there is facility for fast scanning through collections
of data files. Display layouts may be saved as may high
quality graphics which may be incorporated into other documents. One
of the program's design parameters was to make operation as simple and
intuitive as possible so self instruction should be the best course.
WEASEL also has an internal HELP facility to guide the user through
specific procedures.
Weasel version 2, targeted at Macintosh OS X and other
Java2 environments, was released in 2003. Some of its more exciting
enhancements are described in "WEASEL version
2".
WEHI staff may request installation
by the Computer Services department onto any institute Macintosh or
Windows PC. A DIY kit is also available for home computer installation. For non-WEHI installations, this version is available for public download (find the link in "WEASEL version2").
WEASEL is under continuous development. Should you conceive
of any useful features or functions not currently built in, please suggest
them to Cytometry Lab staff (email:
