Details of project

The proteins CARP1 and CARP2 have been proposed to act as inhibitors of cell death that bind to caspase 8 and cause it to be ubiquitylated and degraded. The RING domains of these proteins closely resemble those of cIAPs and the p53 regulators MDM2 and MDM4.

To determine the roles and functions of CARP1 and CARP2 we have created gene KO mice. The goal of this Honours project is to help characterise these mice.
