9th BSP MALARIA MEETING

In addition to the 7 THEMED sessions, one OPEN session and one POSTER session (as previously advertised), this 3-day meeting will also include a WORSHOP and a special BABESIA SYMPOSIUM.

The Workshop on 'FUTURE FUNDING OF MALARIA RESEARCH' will be centered around the findings of the PRISM report and presented by J. Anderson (The Wellcome Trust); other participants in the Workshop will include: Howard Engers (WHO/TDR), Paul Hagan (INCO-DC Programme, European Union), David Nabarro (ODA), Michael Davies (MRC), Catherine Davies (The Wellcome Trust) and John Horton (SmithKline Beecham).
The Worshop will take place as an evening session on Monday 15th September and should lead to a lively discussion !

The BABESIA SYMPOSIUM will look at 'Similarities and Differences between Malaria and Babesiosis'

Although this special symposium is by invited speakers only, submitted abstracts for presentations of research on babesiosis will be considered either as an oral presentation (e.g. in the OPEN session) or as poster.

Registration costs (including sandwich lunches, coffees and teas throughout the three days of the meeting) will be 60 pounds sterling for Full BSP Members, 30 for Student/Retired Members and 90 for Non-Members.

Accommodation has been arranged at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel at the special rate of 32 pounds sterling for bed & breakfast.
